Hi! I'm an artist
You might know me by my handle n0_stars, nickname Pompano, or government name Jennaline. Or maybe not! I'm a Filipino-Canadian artist based on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ people in British Columbia, "Canada".
In 2024, I graduated from the Camosun College Comics and Graphic Novels certificate program. Through which I developed a familial relationship with the medium and a deep admiration for my peers and the local creative community.
Being practically raised online by the fandoms that influenced my art, my entire adolescence was spent creating fan art and OC's paying homage to my favourite forms of media: videogames and manga.
I'm always wanting to contribute back into the streams of art, media, and community that nurtured my creative development.
What even is a n0_stars...
At the time that I was choosing a name, I was learning that my resilience as a creative will always come from the choice to believe in art and curiosity. 'Stars' meaning fate, it meant there wasn't going to be map to guide my journey and struggles as an artist.
To me, being an artist is participating in a shared experience. After all, art was born from the human soul's eagerness to 'connect'. Connection to a time, a look, a memory, a feeling, each other. Connecting with others through art , or over art, is what fills my heart unlike anything else.
